DILBERT CARTOONIST DIES (Friday Church News Notes, January 23, 2026, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) - Scott Adams, Dilbert cartoonist, non-fiction author, and commentator, died of prostate cancer on January 13 at age 68. One week earlier, in an interview with the Catholic News Agency, Adams said he was going to “convert” to Christianity before he died. He said he had more time to deal with this, not knowing that he had only hours to live. “An outspoken proponent of so-called medical assistance in dying, Adams said he took steps toward assisted suicide last year but did not go through with it after.. see full report

The first edition of his book History of Creation in 1868 featured a series of drawings depicting man evolving from apes--mandrill, monkey, gibbon, orangutan, chimpanzee, gorilla, Tasmanian, African Negro, Australian Negro, Fuegian, Chinese, Indo-German. Haeckel being German, placed his own “race” as the crown of evolution. In 1907, Haeckel described Neanderthal as a pre-human.. see full report

The temple was dedicated in 1004 BC with a massive assembly (1 Ki. 8). The people attended from Hamath in the north near the Euphrates to the river of Egypt in the south.
This was in the 7th month on the feast of Ethanim or tabernacles (1 Ki. 8:2). “The Feast of Tabernacles commemorated Israel’s years of wandering in the wilderness (Le. 23:33, 41-43). It was fitting that the temple should be dedicated at this.. see full report

Someone wrote to me recently and asked if the prophecy of Gog and Magog in Ezekiel 38-39 is post-Rapture. The answer is that it is most definitely post-Rapture.
This great prophecy describes a major power north of Israel (“out of the north parts,” Eze. 38:15; 39:2) that will create a strong military alliance and attack Israel and be destroyed by God.
As for the timing, it is clear that it is for a time when Israel thinks herself safe and disarms. It is when Israel “shall dwell safely” (Eze. 38:8, 11, 14; 39:26). This is repeated four times for emphasis and it certainly does not describe this present hour. Israel’s cities don’t have walls, but Israel has better than that. It has one of the most formidable militaries on earth. In fact, it is very possible that Israel could defeat Russia and her allies. Russia has a strong military and a strong leader, but I would put my money on Israel.. see full report

Eternal security is the Bible confidence that every born again believer has perfect, complete, eternal salvation in Jesus Christ. As soon as a sinner receives Christ, he possesses full, unending salvation. To have Christ is to have a secure position before God (1 Jn. 5:10-13). Though the Bible does not use the term “security” to describe the believer’s relationship in Christ, it leaves no doubt that the child of God is eternally safe in Christ. Eternal security refers only to those who are born again through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. It does not refer to hypocrites or to those who are merely dabbling in the things.. see full report

The hoopoe (pronounced hoo-pō) is Israel’s national bird. It was chosen in 2008 by a survey of 155,000 citizens.
The bird gets its name from its mating call (oop-oop-oop or hoo-hoo-hoo or pu-pu-put).
The Hebrew name for the hoopoe is the duchifat. The French name is huppee, meaning crested.
It is beautiful bird with a tiger stripe pattern on its wings and long tail, a pinkish-brown or beige neck and belly, and a distinct crown of pinkish-brown feathers tipped with black and white. The crown normally lies flat, but is raised from time to time. In flight, the hoopoe is a dazzling blur of color. Its wings only close part way and “wave in a pattern similar to a butterfly.” When feeding its chicks, it can hover something like.. see full report

Fundamental Baptists who are promoting the rejection of the King James Bible, such as Bryan Samms and Joshua Barzon (author of The Forgotten Preface), do not properly understand the issue. For example, Barzon quotes from the preface to the 1611 King James Version and contends that the KJV translators would support the modern versions, not understanding that the King James Bible is our authority, not the King James translators. The translators themselves were wrong about many things, including church-statism, territorial bishops, the authority of the “church fathers,” and infant baptism.

In many aspects, family planning is something that each couple must decide alone before God. At the same time, there are forms of birth control that are clearly forbidden by Scripture and therefore a Christian is not free to use.
ABORTION IS NOT A PROPER METHOD OF BIRTH CONTROL
