The following is excerpted from THE FUTURE ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE. ISBN 978-1-58318-172-0. One of the many reasons why the Bible is the most amazing and exciting book on earth is its prophecies. The Bible unfolds the future in great detail, and The Future According to the Bible deals in depth with every major prophetic event, including the Rapture, the Judgment Seat of Christ, the Tribulation, the Antichrist, Gog and Magog, the Battle of Armageddon, the Two Witnesses, Christ’s Return, Muslim nations in prophecy, the Judgment of the Nations, the resurrection body, the conversion of Israel, the highway of the redeemed, Christ’s glorious kingdom, the Millennial Temple, the Great White Throne judgment, and the New Jerusalem. The first two chapters deal at length with the amazing prophecies that are being fulfilled today and with the church-age apostasy. Knowledge of these prophecies is essential for a proper understanding of the times and a proper Christian worldview today. The 130-page section on Christ’s kingdom describes the coming world kingdom in more detail than any book we are familiar with. Every major Messianic prophecy is examined. Prophecy is a powerful witness to the Bible’s divine inspiration, and it is a great motivator for holy Christian living. In this book we show that the Lord’s churches are outposts of the coming kingdom. The believer’s position in Christ’s earthly kingdom will be determined by his service in this present world (Revelation 2:26-27; 3:21). The book is based on forty years of intense Bible study plus firsthand research in Israel, Turkey, and Europe. 520 pages. Available in print and eBook editions from www.wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143

____________

Christ will rule a kingdom filled with pleasure.

“In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so long as the moon endureth” (Psa. 72:7).

The word “flourish” refers to every type of prosperity and legitimate pleasure.

The Psalmist said, “thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures” (Psa. 36:8), and, “at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore” (Psa. 16:11).

The Christ who will rule the world is the God who made Eden for man’s delight. He is the God who “giveth us richly all things to enjoy” (1 Tim. 6:17). He is the One who came that the redeemed “might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).

We think of the delightful things spoken of in the prophecies for the Millennium and beyond: the tree of life with its twelve types of fruit, the crystal clear river flowing from the throne, the white horses of Revelation 19, the glory of God’s throne, the sound of perfected voices and divinely-inspired musical instruments in glorious harmony, the oil of gladness, ivory palaces and odors of myrrh and aloes and cassia (Psa. 45:8), clothing of wrought gold and needlework (Psa. 45:13-14), precious gifts from the kings of the earth (Rev. 21:24), the ministration of reverent, joyful angels, streets of clear gold, a 1,500-mile-square city enlightened with the glory of God, gates of pearl, walls garnished with precious jewels.
Jesus spoke of eating and drinking in His kingdom.

“That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel” (Luke 22:30).

See also Matthew 8:11 and Luke 12:37.

In this present sin-cursed world and in these present sin-stricken bodies, we don’t begin to understand how delicious food can be. Since the Fall, no pear or cantaloupe or tomato has tasted as God designed it to taste when it came fresh from His hands in the unspoiled Garden and when man tasted it with his senses incorrupt.

“Pleasures for evermore” speaks of a paradise fit for a glorified people and a glorified people fit for paradise.

The senses of the glorified body will doubtless be enhanced over the natural body, and only the Lord knows what other senses will be given to man.

The greatest delight will be fellowship with Christ and His people. Imagine what a wonderful thing it will be to sit at Christ’s table with the apostles and prophets! With the Lord Himself! What learning! What conversation!

“Noah, tell us about the preparations of the Ark and what was happening then. And exactly who were those ‘sons of God’ in Genesis 6?”

“Ruth, what you were thinking when you determined to go with Naomi.”

“Peter, tell us more about those early days after the Lord called you.”

“Joshua, what did you and Caleb talk about when you spied out the land of Canaan?”

“David, would you sing us a song?”

“Lord, teach us more about Melchizedek! And will you tell us more about eternity past?”
