Do We Have the Right to Die?
This book contains the history of the modern euthanasia movement and a biblical response. It discusses the following points:
First, medical science is not infallible, and the concept of “persistent vegetative state” (PVS) is not absolute science. Modern brain-scanning technology has found evidence of mental alertness in “brain dead” patients, and patients who have come out of PVS have testified that they were aware of everything that was going on.
Second, man has an eternal soul, and death seals one’s eternal destiny.
Third, it might be possible for a person in a coma or PVS to receive Christ and be saved.
Fourth, the believer’s responsibility is to care for his loved ones, not kill them.
