For a born again child of God, nothing is more delightful than the study of God. The very purpose of man’s existence is to know the God in whose image he was made. Knowing God is satisfying at every level of man’s existence.

This is the Trinitarian God, the eternal Father, Son, and Spirit!

The Bible is very clear and emphatic about the revelation of God as Trinity. God is Trinity in His very essence. Any God who is not Trinity is not the true God. We agree with the Philadelphia Confession of Faith, 1742, which says, “The doctrine of the Trinity is the foundation of all our communion with God, and our comfortable dependence on Him.”

Since Scripture is given to reveal God, and since the Scripture reveals God as the Trinity, this means we can understand the Trinity. The Bible was not given to confuse man, but to enlighten him. It is not a puzzle; it is revelation.

But whether we understand or not, the Bible is very clear that the Trinity is real and we must deal with God on the basis of the Trinity.

To try to ignore the teaching of the Trinity and to deal with God apart from Trinitarian understanding is to reject the Bible and to worship an idol.
