ONE-WORLD “CHURCH” CONTINUES ITS INSIDIOUS PROGRESS (Friday Church News Notes, October 31, 2025, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) - The following is excerpted from “King Charles III and Queen Camilla pray with Pope Leo in historic step for churches,” The Washington Times, Oct. 23, 2025: “Britain’s King Charles III and Queen Camilla prayed Thursday with Pope Leo XIV in an historic visit to the Vatican to forge closer relations between the Church of England and the Catholic Church, a welcome spiritual respite for the royals from the turmoil at home over the Epstein sex scandal. Charles, who is the titular head of the Church of England, and Camilla sat in golden thrones on the raised altar of the Sistine Chapel, in front of Michelangelo’s ‘Last Judgment,’ while Leo and the Anglican archbishop of York presided over an ecumenical service. The event marked the first time since the Reformation that the heads of the two Christian churches, divided for centuries over issues that now include the ordination of female priests, have prayed together. ... Anglicans split from the Catholic Church in 1534 when English King Henry VIII was refused a marriage annulment. While popes for decades have forged warm relations with the Church of England and the broader Anglican Communion on a path toward greater unity, the two churches remain divided. ... Later Thursday, Charles was also to formally receive a new title and recognition at a pontifical basilica that has strong, traditional ties to the Church of England, St. Paul’s Outside the Walls. The chair will remain in the basilica for Charles and his heirs to use, officials said.”
EVEN SMALL AMOUNTS OF ALCOHOL MAY INCREASE DEMENTIA RISK (Friday Church News Notes, October 31, 2025, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) - The following is excerpted from “New Study,” Consumer Affairs, Oct. 10, 2025: “While many think light drinking isn’t a risk, recent research says otherwise. Even light drinking (under seven drinks a week) showed no protective effect in the largest combined study to date. Genetic analyses suggest the more alcohol you’re predisposed to consume, the higher your dementia risk. The drop in drinking before diagnosis hints that earlier studies showing benefits may have been misled by reverse causation. If you’ve ever heard that a glass of wine a day is good for your brain, recent research suggests it’s time to pause and reconsider.”
ELON MUSK’S GROKIPEDIA (Friday Church News Notes, October 31, 2025, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) - Elon Musk, head of Tesla, SpaceX, X (formerly Twitter), and xAI, is working toward the launch of an online encyclopedia called Grokipedia to compete with Wikipedia. (Grok is Musk’s AI chatbot or assistant developed by xAI.) On September 30 Musk announced on X that Grokipedia “will be a massive improvement over Wikipedia” and “frankly, it is a necessary step towards the xAI goal of understanding the universe.” We would exhort Mr. Musk that understanding the universe must begin with the Bible, God’s gracious revelation to fallen man. The Bible and the Bible alone contains the answers to the most serious questions of life, such as Is there a God, and if so, what are His characteristics? How did the world begin? What is man and what is wrong with him? How can man be fixed? What is man’s purpose? Why do men die and what is death? Is there a heaven and a hell? Grokipedia should quote directly from the Bible on these points. It is the world’s most-translated and most popular book. Following are excerpts from “Elon Musk’s Next Big Project Could Be a Game Changer,” PJMedia, Sept. 30, 2025: “Elon Musk may be on the verge of transforming the way we access knowledge online, and if he succeeds, it could fundamentally change how the world discovers and trusts information. ... The announcement came after David Sacks, who serves as the crypto and AI czar in the Trump administration, ripped into Wikipedia for being hopelessly biased. Sacks described the site’s editors as an army of left-wing activists who maintain biographies and block any reasonable corrections that don’t fit their narrative. He pointed out that Wikipedia’s dominance in Google search results and its use as a trusted source for training AI models creates a huge problem. When biased information gets amplified through search engines and artificial intelligence, the effects ripple through everything people read and believe. ... This move against Wikipedia is classic Musk--championing free speech and open information. It’s the same impulse that led him to buy Twitter in 2022 and turn it into X.”
SEEKER’S EVANGELISTIC BIBLE STUDY (Friday Church News Notes, October 31, 2025, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) - The Seekers Bible Study is an evangelistic Bible course for use by individuals, homes, and churches. It begins with a study of the gospel in 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, dealing with the Bible, Christ, sin, Jesus’ atoning death, and Jesus’ burial and bodily resurrection. This is followed by practical studies on repentance and faith. The last section answers the question, “When Is Jesus Coming?” There are review questions for each section. The Seeker’s Bible Study is designed especially to be used as a multi-week, one-on-one course. In our church, we assign a qualified believer to go through the course with every willing visitor and contact. The teacher is instructed to try to grow the class by involving family, neighbors, and friends of the original student. A pastor in Idaho ordered 50 copies of Seeker’s for his church members, urging them to go out and find someone to take through the course. Sometime later he wrote, “Had our first profession from someone finishing your study. A Mormon lady (approximately 75 years old). THE GROWTH AND COLLAPSE OF THE PSYCHIC INDUSTRY (Friday Church News Notes, October 31, 2025, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) - The internet has contributed greatly to the growth of the psychic industry, which offers witchcraft for hire (promising psychic readings, hexes, prosperity, protection, romance, etc.) or instruction in the practice of witchcraft. The industry is projected to reach $4.5 billion by 2033 (“Four news outlets that promoted witchcraft,” Christian Post, Sept. 30, 2025). It is quite possible that there will be no witches on earth in 2033. If the Rapture occurs this year, it will be followed by seven years of Tribulation. In spite of the judgments of God, most men will not repent of their sins, including the practice of the occult. “Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts” (Revelation 9:21). The great tribulation will be followed by the return of Christ to establish His kingdom in which all witches will be removed from the earth.
THREE BIBLICAL PRINCIPLES BROKEN BY PANTS ON WOMEN (Friday Church News Notes, October 31, 2025, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) - Pants on women in modern Western society broke three clear biblical principles: First, pants on women broke down the distinction of the sexes. It was created as a unisex fashion. The pantsuit was created by homosexual fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent (pronounced “Eve Sain Laurau”) in 1966. He has been called “the man who put women in trousers” (“Celebrating Yves Saint Laurent,” Daily Mail, June 2, 2008). The style was called “defiant,” “irreverent,” “daring,” and “androgynous” (“How Yves Saint Laurent Revolutionized Women’s Fashion,” Business Insider, Aug. 8, 2011). Models popularized the fashion by appearing with “slicked back hair and masculine posture.” Feminist Linda Grant observed that the pantsuit “put women on an equal sartorial footing with men” and “is what fashion gave to feminism” (“Feminism Was Built on the Trouser Suit,” The Guardian, June 3, 2008). Second, pants on women are sexually immodest, highlighting the woman’s figure in a sensual way. Tight pants were created by Calvin Klein, a bisexual fashion designer. When his pants appeared in 1974, they sold 200,000 pairs in the first week (“Calvin Klein: A Stylish Obsession,” Entrepreneur, Oct. 10, 2008). Tights worn as pants (leggings) were created by homosexual fashion designer Gianni Versace (pronounced “Johni Versache”). Third, pants on women destroyed shamefacedness. “In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety...” (1 Ti. 2:9). Here we see that the foundational element of modest apparel is the inner character, the fear of God, the holiness, the humility, godly femininity. “Shamefacedness” is the Greek aidos, which “has the idea of downcast eyes” and means “bashfulness, i.e. (towards men) or (towards God) awe” (Strong). It implies “a shrinking from trespassing the boundaries of propriety” (William Hendrickson). Shamefacedness is the opposite of the saucy, impertinent, flippant, insubordinate attitude the world seeks to teach women today. The very concept of shamefacedness is mocked. Imagine reading 1 Timothy 2:9 publicly anywhere in modern society (e.g., a mall, a football game, a rock concert, a public school forum, even from the pulpit of the vast majority of churches).
RETRACTING MOSQUITO ANTENNAE (Friday Church News Notes, October 31, 2025, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) - The following is from CreationMoments.com, July 24, 2025: “Most people are aware that it is only the female mosquito that feeds on blood. The male feeds on plant juices. It is also easy to see the difference between males and females in most species. The male has a distinctive pair of antennae. While the female mosquito’s antennae are difficult to see, the male’s looks like a pair of branched feathers coming out of its head. And if it weren’t for a very special feature, these large, feathery antennae would make it difficult for him to fly. Each antenna is planted in a socket, next to which there is a pad made out of special protein. This pad is actually a water-powered engine. When flying, the mosquito’s antennae are flattened against its head. But when he lands, he raises the antennae so that he can hear. To raise the antennae, a small amount of water from his system is pumped into the pad which increases its size by 25 percent and causes the pad to unfold, raising the antennae. Nature is full of so many wonders that it would be easy for us to get lost in them. But every one of these wonders is designed by God to lead us to desire to learn more about Him--especially to learn from His Word that He wants a relationship with you through His Son, Jesus Christ.
