HOW CRITICAL THEORY SILENCED THE QUARTER MILLION GIRLS ABUSED BY PAKISTANI GROOMING GANGS IN UK (Friday Church News Notes, July 3, 2026, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) - The following is excerpted from “How critical theory silenced,” Christian Post, June 25, 2026: “Last week, a group called Restore Britain released a summary report of an inquiry into the widespread and systematic sexual exploitation of vulnerable working-class women and children across the nation. At least a quarter of a million girls were sexually assaulted, trafficked, tortured, and even killed, mostly by gangs of Pakistani Muslims. The details in the report are so horrifying that it is difficult to believe they are true. As shocking as the reports of abuse are, [more shocking are] the descriptions of the response by British authorities, including police, teachers, social workers, doctors, and politicians. Evidence of the abuse and reports by victims were downplayed and ignored. When Prime Minister Kier Starmer, who resigned Monday, was Director of Public Prosecutions and the head of the Crown Prosecution Service, he dismissed 13,000 cases of suspected child sexual offenders with a warning letter rather than attempting to prosecute. According to the report, the fear of being labeled racist, the fear of losing votes, the fear of rioting if prosecutions happened, and the fear of accusations of classism all contributed to a culture in which ‘community cohesion’ became more important than protecting women and children. British citizens who spoke out about the abuse or expressed criticism of mass migration were often prosecuted, especially if the criticisms were directed at Pakistani or Muslim communities. In some cases, fathers attempting to rescue their daughters from abusers were even arrested. Last year alone in Great Britain, approximately 12,000 people were prosecuted for social media posts, some for longer periods than those who committed the crimes they were protesting. ... Underlying the British response and the silence by media outlets both in Britain and in the U.S. is a cultural mood common among elites and shaped by Critical Theory. Western culture is assumed to be oppressive, and minorities, especially immigrants, are assumed to be victims of Western oppression. Thus, minorities cannot be expected to be held to the same standards. ... The gangs that have been operating in Britain have deep ideological and cultural roots shaped by Islam, including Sharia law. ... Also ignored is the difficult truth that Islam, on its own terms, allows child sexual exploitation and trafficking.”
CHRISTIAN FAITH REMOVED FROM PUBLIC SCHOOL HISTORY BOOKS (Friday Church News Notes, July 3, 2026, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) - The following is excerpted from “Ben Carson, Riley Gaines fight scrubbing of faith,” Fox News, June 23, 2026: “A new report alleges that public libraries and publishers are censoring faith from the American story while actively pushing progressive, revisionist history to young readers. The study by conservative publisher Brave Books, titled ‘The America 250 Faith Gap,’ analyzed more than 300 books across 25 reading lists curated by children’s publishers, public libraries and other institutional sources for the nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary. The study reportedly found zero titles directly addressing faith, religious liberty or Christianity’s role in the founding of the United States, despite religious liberty being enshrined in the First Amendment. While books on the Great Awakening, the faith lives of the Founders and the Black church’s role in American history were completely absent, according to the report, the lists included Ibram X. Kendi’s ‘Stamped for Kids’ and Nikole Hannah-Jones’s ‘Born on the Water,’ a picture book tied to the controversial 1619 Project, instead. Several recommended titles focused heavily on transgender activism during the 1969 Stonewall Riots, including a picture book for young children. ... Brave Books noted that ... the exclusion of faith leaves the next generation with a skewed view of U.S. history. The report’s findings drew sharp criticism from former HUD Secretary Dr. Ben Carson and OutKick host Riley Gaines, who are both Brave Books authors. ‘Faith is not a footnote in the American story,’ Carson told Fox News Digital. ‘It is the foundation of it.’ ‘The Declaration of Independence says our rights come from our Creator,’ he continued. ‘Benjamin Franklin called the Constitutional Convention to prayer before they produced a document that has stood for 250 years. George Washington survived battle after battle in ways that defied all human explanation. These men knew where their strength came from.’ Carson argued it is essential for young people to understand the role faith and religious liberty played in U.S. history to truly appreciate their freedoms.”
PASTOR RESPONDS TO THE BOOK FUNDAMENTAL BAPTISTS: HISTORY, COLLAPSE, AND REVIVAL (Friday Church News Notes, July 3, 2026, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) - “I finished the book Fundamental Baptists: History, Collapse, and Revival a few weeks ago. The whole book is good, and I especially liked the section on revival because it encouraged me in the things that are already being done right and challenged me in the areas that are lacking. The list of things for churches to emphasize is biblical and thorough enough to be a good measure of how well we are doing being the kind of church God wants us to be.”
FROG PHARMACISTS (Friday Church News Notes, July 3, 2026, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) - The following is from CreationMoments.com, May 18, 2026: “Some frogs are regular little drug factories. Their skins produce a wide range of powerful alkaloids, a large family of chemicals usually produced by plants. Familiar alkaloids include quinine, caffeine and morphine. Different alkaloids have different effects, usually on the nervous system. The poison-arrow frog may be the most famous alkaloid-producing frog. South American natives simply rub their arrows or darts on the frog’s back. One species of this frog contains enough poison to kill about 100 people! Another frog, native to Ecuador, produces an anesthetic more powerful than morphine. South American natives rub another frog on their wounds. Researchers discovered that the frog’s skin makes a powerful antiseptic. Yet another frog alkaloid will change the colors on parrot feathers. Some of the alkaloids produced by frogs are so complex that it takes years of study, using modern science’s most sophisticated equipment, to discover the active chemical. Researchers in this field are only beginning to learn about the alkaloids produced by frogs. They have yet to research a frog that natives claim to use to heighten their senses for the hunt. What puzzles scientists who believe in evolution is that the frogs’ exotic skin chemistries don’t follow the patterns they anticipated based upon expected evolutionary relationships. This means that these frogs have one more exciting purpose. They provide evidence against evolution and for the Creator. REF.: Pennisi, Elizabeth, ‘Pharming frogs,’ Science News, v. 142.”
CONCLUSION: The Friday Church News Notes is designed for use in churches and is published by Way of Life Literature’s Fundamental Baptist Information Service. Unless otherwise stated, the Notes are written by David Cloud. Of necessity we quote from a wide variety of sources, but this obviously does not imply an endorsement. We trust that our readers will not be discouraged. It is God’s will that we know the times (1 Ch. 12:32; Mt. 16:3) and that we be as wise as serpents and harmless as doves. The News Notes remind us that the hour is very late, and we need to be ready for the Lord’s coming. Are you sure that you are born again? Are you living for Christ? “And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof” (Ro. 13:11-14).
