"We express serious alarm at the depths of apostasy now reached and accelerating within the World Council of Churches. In particular we repudiate:
1. The inclusion of religious leaders from Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam and Judaism on the platform [at the Sixth General Assembly in Vancouver, B.C., Canada, in 1983].
2. The setting up of a Canadian Indian spirit house with a sacred flame which is really a pagan altar.
3. The receipt of a 15-member totem pole as an idolatrous gift, subsequently to be shipped for erection at WCC headquarters in Geneva.
4. The continuing propagation of Marxist philosophy and the growing encouragement to oppressed people to take up arms to accomplish their so- called "liberation," and the donation of funds to that end.
5. The promotion of the doctrine that God the Holy Spirit is the female and mother partner in the Blessed Trinity, making the persons Father, Son, and Mother.
6. The accelerating Romeward tendency evidenced by:
a. The number of Roman Catholics either speaking or bringing greetings.
b. The letter of greeting and encouragement from the Pope.
c. The preparation for and celebration of the so-called "Holy Eucharist" Sunday, July 31, [1983], led by Archbishop Runcie [Anglican], and which is nothing less than the blasphemous mass of the harlot church.
We were also shocked by the greetings sent to the assembly by Dr. Billy Graham and deeply disturbed by the contents.
Therefore, we solemnly resolve and declare our continued repudiation of and opposition to the World Council of Churches in all its activities, declaring it to be the ultimate manifestation of apostasy, error, and deceit. We urge Christians to obey the Lord, come out from among them, and touch not the unclean thing" (World Congress of Fundamentalists resolution in the World Council of Churches, 1985).
