We are pleased to announce the publication of a multi-media video presentation titled Biblical Separation and Its Neglect Among Fundamental Baptists.
Photographs, books, and other visual aids are professionally mixed into this high-quality presentation to illustrate the message.
When we returned from the mission field in 1989, I began to notice a change among fundamental Baptist churches, a widespread neglect of biblical separation. This became even more obvious after Promise Keepers blasted onto the scene in 1995. For the first time, many independent Baptist churches joined hands with a radically ecumenical organization and movement that included Roman Catholics, Modernistic Protestants, etc. It was the practice of separation in particular that historically set fundamental Baptists apart from Southern Baptists and that forced large numbers of men to leave the SBC in the 1960s and 1970s. Now this important distinctive is being laid aside by many fundamental Baptists. This is exactly what happened in the 1950s, when the New Evangelicals rejected separatism and determined to proceed upon a path of positivism and tolerance, dialogue and infiltration. In our video presentation on New Evangelicalism, we document the fearful downgrade in doctrine and morality that has followed in the wake of their rejection of separation. The same future awaits those independent Baptists who follow in these misguided footsteps.
One reason so many are sliding away from separation is lack of sound instruction on the more controversial things. I recall that I did not have a course on separation in fundamental Baptist Bible school that I attended even back in the mid-1970s. Yet if we look at the New Testament epistles, we see that the Apostles dealt with error continually and plainly. It is impossible to maintain the truth without warning against error. Our commission is not only to believe the faith but also to earnestly contend for it. This is not an optional part of the ministry.
This video presentation begins with an overview of the doctrine of separation from the Bible. The author deals with the Foundation of separation, the Method of separation, the Reason for separation, the Basis for separation, the Initiative of separation, and the Attitude of separation.
He then illustrates the widespread neglect of separation today among fundamental Baptists as a warning to those who have ears to hear. He gives many specific examples of this from bookstores, radio stations, from the arena of music and missions, pertaining to the use of psychology and textual criticism, etc.
This is an important presentation for Churches, Bible Colleges, and Home Schools that want to prepare their people to deal with the apostasy of these last days.
