1. The World Council of Churches at [their Sixth General Assembly in] Vancouver [British Columbia, Canada, July, 1983] said that they had four different views of the Bible among them. Yet there is only one view possible for believers. The Bible is God's Word, inerrant, infallible, [absolutely perfect and trustworthy in every detail] and forever settled in Heaven.
2. The WCC conference at Vancouver brought to their platform the representatives of the pagan religions, Hindu, Islam, Buddhism, and reported progress of their decision in 1975 in Nairobi to dialogue with these pagan religions. They brought the Hindu dancer out with her acts of heathen worship. [They started the conference with a fire built by North American idolatrous animists who danced around the fire and made heathen offerings of tobacco and fish to their false god.]
3. In Madras just recently, the head of the WCC dialogue commission, a professor in Harvard Theological Seminary, led an anniversary in Madras of the missionary conference 60 years ago. She said that the dialogue which was progressing enabled them to see how God was working in the other religions. But according to the Bible, our God is working only in Jesus Christ, who alone is "the way, the truth and the life."
4. The Soviets have taken control of the World Council of Churches. All these denominations in the iron curtain countries which have submitted to their communist masters are now in it. They are controlled from Moscow as are the councils on religious affairs which each Communist country has. The delegates from the communist countries with those of the third world determine that everything is done to their satisfaction. Metropolitan Nikodim, the chief representative from the USSR, was elected as a president of the WCC in 1975 in Nairobi. The Russian Orthodox Church which is controlled by the Marxist government of the USSR is one of the most influential members of the WCC.
5. The top man [from the communist countries] is Metropolitan Filaret of Moscow, Minsk, second ranking churchman of the Russian Orthodox Church. He is on the Central Committee of the WCC. Our latest FBI report in 1986-87 names him as the government representative and KGB agent who is running the churches.
6. When Gorbachev arrived on December 7, to sign the INF treaty, he brought Metropolitan Filaret with him on his plane and several other of these religious agents. That night Filaret was lighting candles at the National Cathedral. The world saw Shultz welcoming Gorbachev at the steps of the plane but the media suppressed these agents with him. The International Council of Christian Churches' protest in these areas has simply been repressed by the media here, but not in other places around the world. I was in India in January, and one of their leading papers, the Christian Express spread far and wide all this mischief. The Singapore government expelled the WCC leaders who were holding an office for their Far Eastern Council [the Christian Conference of Asia] because of their communism. This was not carried in the United States church papers.
7. The FBI report names the World Council of Churches and the National Council of Churches of America as religious bodies that are being used by the Kremlin with these frequent visitors from Russia as carrying out the desires of the Soviets.
Bychkov, leader of the communist-controlled All Union Council of Evangelical Christians-Baptists, was also identified as a KGB agency by the FBI. April 17-23 Ecumenical Press Service reports that Bychkov met recently with the Southern Baptist Foreign Mission Board in Richmond, Virginia. This infiltrator is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Baptist World Alliance, whose largest supporter is the Southern Baptists. The FBI report identified the Christian Peace Conference as a Communist front whose president is Karoly Toth of communist Hungary, also a member of the Central Committee of the World Council of Churches. The communists have their men in these top key places to pose as fine Christians and thus deceive those with whom they affiliate.
8. The WCC is cooperating fully with the Soviet Union's 1000th anniversary of the coming of Christianity to Russia. The FBI says it is a front or a facade carried on the by the Soviet government. [Since the Marxists have always said that religion is the opiate of the people and have persecuted it as something evil, something dangerous to their plans, why would the Soviet Union make such a big thing of the coming of Christianity to Russia except to use these activities for their own devious purposes.]
9. The WCC and the National Council of Churches in America have been backing the communist Sandinistas in Nicaragua right down the line.
10. When the interfaith worship service was held on September 15, 1987, in Philadelphia, observing the 200th anniversary of the American Constitution, some 12 different groups participated, including these non-Christian bodies. Each had written its prayer, and they all particpated at the same time. The last prayer printed was from the World Council of Churches. The benediction was really an outrage. They said, in unison, "May God scatter light in our paths, and make us all everlastingly happy." Impossible. Only Jesus Christ can do that and His name was blasphemed and desecrated.
11. The interfaith prayer meeting, set up by the Pope in Assisi, October 27, 1986, included the Dalai Lama, the king-god of the Buddhists, a witch doctor from Africa, Hindus, Buddhists, fire-worshipping Jains, and North American Indian animists and many other heathen groups. The WCC cooperated with this abomination. Also the archbishop of Canterbury, Robert Runcie, cooperated, [as head of the worldwide Anglican communion, one of the key members of the World Council of Churches.] The prayers, of course, did not go anywhere. But the media gave it the finest of coverage because it was for peace.
12. The Roman Catholic Pope has been over to the WCC's Geneva headquarters repeatedly. His last visit was in 1984.
13. The Pope and WCC General Secretary Emilio Castro, met at the Vatican in 1986 and agreed on the drive for the bringing of these bodies together. They said: "The search for unity is a principal pastoral concern of the Roman Catholic Church and is a primary responsibility for the World Council of Churches."
14. Last year a delegation from the WCC went to Red China as guests of Bishop K.H. Ting and the Chinese communist government. They are preparing now to ask that the churches in Red China be made members of the WCC. [Ting is a puppet of the communists and has been singing the praises of Mao and calling the communist enslavement of China "liberation" since 1949. He is also a liberal theologian who studied at the apostate Union Theological Seminary in New York in the 1940s, and has affiliated with the World Council of Churches and apostate ecumenism since the 1940s, beginning through his work with the YMCA, the Student Christian Movement in Canada and the World Student Christian Federation. As the head of the Three-Self Movement and the China Christian Council, Ting wields tremendous influence over Christian activity in China and firmly resists all outside evangelistic work which might help the untold masses in China hear of Christ and be saved. He is opposed to Christian radio broadcasts into China, to the distribution of Christian literature into China, as well as any smuggling of Bibles into that needy land. In this we see that Ting is not for Christ but for the communists, yet he is in close and good affiliation with the World Council of Churches and recently visited their headquarters in Geneva.]
15. United States Secretary of State George P. Schultz has just been to the Soviet Union and he gave the ecumenical movement a very strong plug when he went into the Russian Orthodox Church in the Soviet state of Georgia and attended the mass. He spoke of the "immense continuity of religious tradition," as he spoke to the patriarch there. He even praised the 1000th anniversary of the coming of Christianity, but he did not have his facts right. According to the FBI report, this church is under the control of the KJB. The WCC has these churches in its membership and so it goes on and on. So it is that I could on and on with all this perversion and subversion.
Our country is being flooded with it through the channels of the media which promotes these liberal interests, as are most countries of the world. We are all being affected by it and conditioned. [May God give wisdom and courage to church leaders everywhere to oppose apostasy and error and to lead their people to separate from it, and thus obey the Lord God whom they confess.]
