December 21, 2000 (David Cloud, Fundamental Baptist Information Service, P.O. Box 610368, Port Huron, MI 48061-0368, fbns@wayoflife.org) - Oprah Winfrey is one of the most popular entertainment personalities. Her daily television program is watched by 25 million people. She refers to her show as ãChange Your Life TV,ä but her philosophy of life is a dangerous mixture of New Age and pop psychology. The following quotes, which are taken from The Christian News, Feb. 22, 1999, demonstrate her anti-christian views:
ãI was sitting in church [she was raised in a Baptist home] and heard that God is a jealous God. I asked, ÎWhy?â Come on--letâs get over it.ä
ãOne of the biggest mistakes humans make is to believe that there is only one way. Actually, there are many diverse paths leading to what you call God.ä
ãJesus did not come to teach us how divine He was but to teach us that divinity was within us.ä She added to declare that Christ was God in the flesh ãwould make Jesus the biggest egotist that ever lived.ä
ãI believe in the FORCE. I call it God.ä
ãReferring to her reading of New Ager Shirley MacLaine, consulting crystals, etc., she said, ãIt seems to me to say what the Bible has said for years. It is just that many of us were brought up with a more restricted, limited vision of what the Bible said.ä
