Dear Interested Friend:

Through the years Baptists have followed every shade of Calvinism. Most have called themselves moderate Calvinists, but some have held to an extreme position. We believe that how we view God's sovereignty and our human responsibility will determine how we live. We will demonstrate how teachings such as predestination and fore-knowledge can be harmonized with doctrines such as human choice and free will. Some ask, "Does it really matter?" Yes, it matters. This area of doctrine has been riddled with wrongly applied interpretation of God's Word and extremism unwarranted by the Word of God. The final authority for this controversy must be God's Word. We will look to it to answer the philosophical speculations, accept it, and believe it as written.
