HINDU MISSIONARIES
August 2, 2000 (David W. Cloud, Fundamental Baptist Information Service, P.O. Box 610368, Port Huron, MI 48061-0368, fbns@wayoflife.org) - Hindu missionaries from India are carrying their idolatrous faith to other countries, including the United States, Singapore, and Mauritius. They go through an intensive nine-month country of training at the Hindu Heritage Parishthan near New Delhi, a school that is aligned with organizations that have promoted anti-Christian sentiment in India and that are believed to be connected with the recent violence against Christians in that country (British Broadcasting Network, cited by Religion Today, July 28, 2000). The Hindu missionaries are taught how to counter the arguments of Christians and other religions. When they leave India, they carry urns containing water from the "holy" Ganges river. Their goal is not only to make converts, but to "preserve Hinduism in its most traditional form among Hindus outside of India whose faith may be diluted by foreign cultural influences and other religions." |
