August 11, 1996 (David W. Cloud, Fundamental Baptist Information Service, P.O. Box 610368, Port Huron, MI 48061-0368, fbns@wayoflife.org) -The following are excerpts from some of the letters we have received in response to "Letters from Promise Keepers." There are tens of thousands of Christians who do not support Promise Keepers, but who do support the Lord Jesus Christ and His Gospel and His Word and His Church and His Commission --

"Thank you for not being afraid to hold up the banner of doctrinal purity. God will be the final Judge on this issue and surely your reward will be waiting for faithfulness to the Word of God."

"As I read the 'letters from Promise Keepers' I see even more the responsibility we have to preach the word, and reprove and rebuke false teachers ... The two most important traits that God gives to those who are truly saved is a love of the Word and discernment. Clearly, and sadly, these folks have neither. The devil is truly the master of deceit. ... Do not be discouraged; preach the Word, and continue to warn men of Satan's devices."

"I've noticed this trend lately. People don't want to live by doctrine but want to add 'experience' to their Christian walk. ... There seems to be a general lack of discernment out there. I stand with you on the importance of following doctrine. Keep up the good work. We need a few godly men to stand up in these final days as Satan builds his New World Order."

"It is sad, but true, that when you take a stand on truth and reject the desire of the flesh to join everything for acceptance, you become the object of scorn. ... Truth cannot be compromised. Stand, and having done all, stand."

"Please know that if it were not for people like you who care enough to tell us the truth, many of us who love the Lord would possibly be stuck in the rut of ecumenism as well. Thank you so very much for giving us good, sound, BIBLICAL truth! To God be all the glory, honor, and praise. Not to men!"

"I praise God for the information warning others of the lies being spread as 'Christian truth.' In the midst of this apathy you are certainly salt."

"Just a quick note to thank you for your e-mail items and to encourage you to keep contending for the truth no matter what the PK advocates say."

"I for one appreciate your faithful stand for the Word of God and the doctrines of the faith which was once delivered to the saints. ... May God give us the grace and courage to stand against the flood that is sweeping so many to destruction."

"Keep up the good work on the close scrutiny of PK. ... Being popular, even among Christian friends, isn't important. What is important is that the truth and purity of God's Word be upheld."

"Stand fast, brother. You have a lot more support than you might realize. Keep up the watch and may God Bless You!"

"I have been reading your articles on the Promise Keepers with great interest. ... Just wanted to tell you that I appreciate your stand and encourage you to keep on the firing line. As Paul said, 'Am I your enemy because I tell you the truth?' May God richly bless you with much grace as you stand compassionately with conviction for Bible truth."

"I know sometimes the feedback you get can be discouraging, but brother, I want to encourage you to keep looking up and keep on keeping on!!! Be faithful unto the end! Don't quit!"

"I just read your posting entitled 'More Letters from Promise Keepers Supporters.' Wow! There are some confused people. ... Don't let up!"
