We are all aware of the female hysteria--the sexual abuse syndrome--that is sweeping the country. Raymond McCaffrey, in his Colorado Springs Gazette Telegraph column for November 1, 1993, shares a typical illustration of this deadly delirium. He comments on and quotes from a correspondent as follows:
"His wife had gone into therapy because she was unhappy at work and those bad feelings were spilling over into her family. He explained that before she became unhappy his wife had grown up as `sort of a princess' who had `enjoyed a very good relationship with her parents.'
"Her condition worsened, and she came up with an apparent explanation for her pain. `Suddenly,' her husband said, she started having `memories.' Her memories were shocking, such as are increasingly common today--recollections that she had been sexually abused as a child. `I was firmly convinced that it was the therapy that was making her sick.'
"He noted that his wife began exhibiting signs of different types of mental illness. `The whole time she was reading volumes and volumes of books on mental illness.' He explained that finally his wife appeared beset by a `supposed multiple personality disorder'--even though in more than two decades he knew her there never had been `a hint or indication that there were any more personalities than one.'
"He said that during the first year that his wife began staying intermittently at a psychiatric hospital, `she started mimicking the other patients.' At about the same time she also began giving accounts of being sexually abused. They were recounted within days of other individuals in the hospital having similar experiences.
"His wife began with some recollection of her father being abusive, then her mother. In a few months it was her having been tortured by her parents. `A few more months and it was gang rapes, and sex with her parents involved. Then it turned to ritual abuse and satanic abuse, including members of the neighborhood church.'"
The remainder of this report is an elaboration of the above. None would deny the ongoing fact of abuse toward women and children, and none had better deny the fact that this hysteria is something over and above, or beneath, that! What is to be shown is that this same false memory syndrome is now an integral part of the charismatic movement.
Twenty years ago in our Tri-S-Series we said that the then burgeoning (and still burgeoning) tongues movement would further degenerate into demonism. The demon deliverance movement has for the past ten or fifteen years been further poisoning the church. But now there is the full-blown epidemic of female hysteria throughout the ever hysterical charismatic movement, known as demon deliverance/memory healing.
DR. CHARLES H. KRAFT--Dr. Kraft is Professor of Anthropology and Intercommunications at Fuller Theological Seminary. Ten years ago he picked up (contracted) his demon deliverance ministry from his mentors, Dr. C. Peter Wagner, and John Wimber. As a consequence, he wrote Christianity With Power (Servant Books, Ann Arbor, 1989)....
Dr. Kraft recently shifted mentors, to one John Loren Sandford. This has resulted in his subsequent move into memory healing as a supplement to his demon deliverance. As a result he has published two almost identical books: Defeating Dark Angels (1992) and Deep Wounds, Deep Healing (1993), both by Servant Books. These are critiqued here, designated as D.D., and D.W.
[O Timothy Editor: Charles Kraft claims to be an evangelical but he holds a modernistic position in regard to the inspiration of the Bible. This is a common phenomenon in our day. Consider the following excerpts from his book Genesis: Beginnings of the Biblical Drama--"...the Book of Genesis contains three such faith stories, woven together. ... What is the origin of the expanded work? Certainly ORAL TRADITIONS passed down by word of mouth for centuries. ... The first voice ... is a prophet (or probably a prophetic school of writers), perhaps in the tenth century B.C. golden age of King Solomon ... given the symbol J in Old Testament study. E, the second voice we hear (or source we read) is that of a northern prophet of Israel living some two centuries after J, the Judean source. ... the third voice, that of the priest, designated as P. ... Thus we have two accounts, not one, of creation. A closer look at the great hymn of creation suggests that ... it is the sublime statement of religious faith hammered out over the centuries of Israel's history. ... It is very illuminating to read the old Babylonian creation story ... While scholars differ as to the extent that this old, well-known myth influenced Hebrew thought, it is obvious that verse 2 uses language reminiscent of the old story. ... Is it not logical that the Biblical writer could do no other than write in terms of the scientific theories of his own day? ... THE FIRST CHAPTER OF GENESIS WAS NOT WRITTEN PRIMARILY TO EXPLAIN HOW GOD CREATED THE UNIVERSE. ... The Bible is not scientific education, nor was it ever intended to be ... This earthly story of what happened ... never speaks of a person named Adam ... This is so, because the story of this first man is really the story of every man. That is, while, of course, it is a simple narrative SUPPOSEDLY about the first man, its significance is that, IN STORY FORM, it is really fundamental philosophy concerning the nature of all mankind. To read this old J narrative primarily as history, raising questions as to the historicity, as to whether it could be factually true that the whole human race came from this one common progenitor, is really to miss the profound significance. ... the garden of Eden ... this geography is deliberately SYMBOLICAL. ... What a delightful STORY ... What a wealth of QUAINT PHILOSOPHY ... it is of the utmost importance that we see in the story not merely primeval history about the first man and the first woman WHICH OUR CURRENT KNOWLEDGE OF GEOLOGY, ANTHROPOLOGY, AND BIOLOGY WILL NOT ALLOW US TO ACCEPT ... For this story describes, not primarily two individuals, Adam and Eve, but, as their names imply, `the man' and `the woman,' that, EVERY MAN AND EVERY WOMAN. ... this story [God clothing Adam and Eve in coats of skins] may be an early Hebrew explanation for man's universal adult consciousness of sex and of the need for clothing to hide sex" (Charles Kraft, Genesis: Beginnings of the Biblical Drama, New York: The Methodist Church Board of Missions, 1964).
While Dr. Kraft is accepted as an evangelical Bible teacher, in reality he questions and denies the perfection and historicity of the Word of God. He is dishing out stale, unbelieving German rationalistic hash under the guise of evangelical terminology. I don't care what he calls himself; he has apostatized from the faith once delivered to the saints (Jude 3). The Pentateuch claims to have been written by the historical Moses (Ex. 24:4,7; 34:27,28; Nu. 33:2; De. 1:1-5; 4:4-5; 31:9,24-26). Other Old Testament writers also claim that Moses wrote the Pentateuch (Jos. 1:7; 8:32-35; Ju. 3:4; 1 Ki. 2:3; Ezr. 2:6; Ne. 9:14; Mal. 4:4). The Lord Jesus Christ and the Apostles reaffirmed that the Pentateuch was written by the historical Moses, not by some unknown J,E,D,P editors who lived centuries after Moses (Mk. 12:26; Lk. 16:29-31; Jn. 1:17; 5:45- 47; 8:5; Ac. 15:21; 2 Co. 3:15). The Apostle Paul cited Genesis 3 as history (Ro. 5:12; 1 Tim. 2:13,14). Beware, dear friends, of Modernists hiding in Evangelical clothing!]
JOHN LOREN SANDFORD--John Sandford's mentorship is based primarily upon his two books: The Transformation of the Inner Man (Bridge, Plainfield, N.J., 1982) and Deliverance and Inner Healing (Chosen Books [Baker], Grand Rapids, 1992). John Sandford, with his wife, Paula, and son, Mark (Denver Seminary graduate), have a demon-deliverance and memory-healing Center in Post Falls, Idaho, called Elijah House. John Sandford is a disciple of the late Agnes Sanford, mother of "inner healing."
SYNOPTIC/KINGDOM ORIENTATION--Charismatic dementia is related to the refusal to rightly divide the Word of Truth. Like Covenantism, the preference is the Synoptic Gospels and the Kingdom Gospel, over Pauline Church truth. Dr. Kraft leaves no question as to that:
"There is nothing in Scripture that indicates that signs and wonders were meant to stop after the early days of Christianity. Theories about the termination of certain spiritual gifts all come from human interpreters under the influence of Western worldviews. ...
"Recognize that is it s particular worldview and limited experience, not a difference in the value of the inspired Epistles--especially those written by Paul, at the expense of the Gospels. The thing that did it for me was experience. There is absolutely no substitute for experience to bring one to a new perspective" (Christianity With Power, pp. 96-98)....
OUT-PATIENTS--One could select at random a group of mental hospital inmates, deal with them exactly as Dr. Kraft does in his ministry, and the result would be identical. To put it conversely, that which you are about to find below is identical to what you would encounter under similar circumstances in an insane asylum. ...
WHICH IS WHOM?--A word concerning the purported demons in Christians with whom the deliverers carry on conversations. Those who come to these leaders for counsel and healing are usually emotionally ill, if not outright psychotic--subjectively and suggestively oriented in the extreme. If they were emotionally and spiritually normal and well they would never seek deliverance from demons, and deep healing of memories.
"When the demons respond, it is common for people to be confused as to which words are theirs and which are those of the demon. I ask the person to report to me what thoughts and impressions come and let me [!] sort them out. Together, we usually find it easy to make the distinction. In this way we can carry on quite satisfactory conversations with demons whether they are talking directly through the person's vocal apparatus or communicating by impressions that the person expresses" (D.D., p. 235).
THE HEALING OF MEMORIES--The theory, both in secular and charismatic circles, is that the individual represses traumatic experiences into the subconscious. The therapist, or deliverer, mainly via suggestion, brings to light the encapsulated memory for "healing." Speaking personally, any "traumatic" experiences of mine, say from the age of five or so, are quite vivid and memorable right up to the present 80 years. How about you?
"That which is termed healing of memories, or inner healing, or deep healing, or empowered ministry, is a work in the power of the Holy Spirit aimed at bringing healing to the whole person. Since the majority of human ailments is closely tied to damage in the emotional and spiritual realms, inner healing focuses there.
"Since these are often in the memories carried unconsciously by those who come for help, inner healing involves special focus on what is called `the healing of memories.' Specific problems often encountered are unforgiveness, anger toward others, bitterness, rejection, low self-esteem, fear, worry, and sexual issues" (D.D., p. 141).
THE CHANGING OF THE GUARD--Many of these deliverance leaders were at one time doctrinally oriented and Bible-based. [O Timothy Editor: I don't agree with this assessment; I don't believe any of these evangelical or charismatic teachers were truly Bible based.] But stories, sights, and sounds swept all of that away into subjective senselessness.
"For years Ed Murphy and I believed that the following biblical verse and several others proved that a Christian could not be demonized: `But you belong to God, my children, and have defeated the false prophets because the Spirit that dwelleth in you is more powerful than the spirit in those who belong to the world" (1 John 4:4).
"I believe this Scripture. And I wish with all my heart that my earlier interpretation of it were right, that Christian cannot be demonized. But experience [emphasis ours] has shown me that the verse cannot mean that the presence of the Holy Spirit within the Christian makes it impossible for dark angels to live in them" (D.D., p. 62).
[These men hold such views] in spite of the fact that there is not a single verse in all of Scripture that says a [born again person] can be indwelt by a demon, nor is there a word of scriptural instruction for casting demons out of Christians. These deliverers are forced to admit to the truth of this, but "we know differently by experience." These men, typical of the rest, fell from the Western objective scriptural view, to the Eastern subjective "spirit world" view.
"When Ed Murphy, Merrill Unger and I looked at what actually happens in demonization, we experienced a `paradigm shift.' That is, we changed certain of the assumptions with which we perceived or pictured reality. Murphy calls this particular paradigm, or change in assumptions [there should have been scriptural convictions], `the most significant worldview shift in my Christian life'" (D.D., p. 62).
DEMONIZATION--It used to be that tongues was the "be all and end all" for the charismatic, but now, if he doesn't have total demons...
"By demonization we mean that a person is inhabited by one or more demons. The fact that a Christian can be indwelt does not call into question the believer's salvation. What we have found is that a demon cannot live in a Christian's spirit (`heart'). If people are demonized before they accept Christ, the Holy Spirit comes to live within their spirit and the demons have to leave that part of them" (D.W., p. 259).
GHOSTLY (GHASTLY) INHERITANCE--
"Some of the strongest demons I have met have been inherited by the children of men involved in this evil organization, Freemasonry. Frequently, when people manifest the negative emotional characteristics or even the physical illnesses of their parents, these have been passed on demonically. We have found inherited demons of fear, death, pornography, rejection, hate, rage, homosexuality, cancer, and diabetes" (D.W.., p. 263).
INTERGENERATIONAL DEMONS--Dr. Kraft leaves no demon uncovered! But isn't this a little late, a little after the fact?
"If there is an intergenerational root, I say something like the following: `In the name of Jesus I take authority over that ancestor six generations back and break your power in the sixth, fifth, fourth, third, and second generations. Now I break your power over (person's name) father/mother and cut off any power you have over him/her through your involvement in the family'" (D.D., p. 188).
SICK--The charismatic pseudo-tongues experience is sick enough, and the demon deliverance ploy is sicker still; but this memory dementia is the sickest of all--thus far! We hesitate to include the next few paragraphs, for the sake of Christian decorum. ...
"Frequently, the person will feel the demons leave through an orifice--the mouth (possibly accompanied by a burp, yawn, or shout), nose, eyes, ears, anus, or vagina" (D.D., p. 194).
SICKER--Now we have the techniques of picturing, or visualizing. Imagination gone mad.
"Where there is a miscarriage or an abortion, I have the person(s) picture the baby, decide on its sex, give the child a name and talk to him or her as if the baby had been born. Since the parent and child will get to spend eternity together, it is fun to think of starting the relationship in this way.
"I instruct people to hold and talk to the baby as long as they care to and then give the baby lovingly to Jesus. In this way, parents agree to accept what Jesus has allowed to happen. They usually will see Jesus lovingly take the baby and disappear with him or her. One person saw Jesus carrying the diaper bag, bottles, and other paraphernalia as he walked away" (D.D., pp. 153, 154).
SICKEST--The insane ministry to the insane, insanely!
"We often use the procedure of taking the person back to the womb, or back to conception [why not back to the Bible?], a technique I learned from one of my associates, Molly Sutherland-Dodd. I ask the person to picture Jesus' hands, with a sperm in one hand and an egg in the other. I then lead the person to voluntarily put Jesus' hands together, thereby fertilizing the egg with the sperm to produce an embryo with the person's name on it.
"I suggest that God has been effectively involved in every conception. Then I ask, `Do you think God made a mistake in allowing you to be conceived, or in assigning your gender?' Many people know or suspect that their parents did not want them or they wanted them to be a different sex. If the person can choose with God not only to be, but to be the sex God has assigned, great healing can come to the person's self-image" (D.D., p. 151).
BACK TO BIRTH--They include their charismatic
"Jesus" in their bizarre games. Since that is all they have, it is the best they can do. ...
"After blessing their ninth month, we invite people to picture their birth. Once born, we have them allow Jesus to pick them up and hold them as a baby. Often they feel the pleasantness and security of Jesus' arms [thus missing the written Word of the glorified Lord Jesus Christ, apart from which there can be no true security]. I ask if the umbilical cord is still connected. If it is, this usually signals some unhealthy attachment to mother or father that can be broken by suggesting that the person enter the picture as an adult to cut and tie the cord. I then ask them to receive the baby from Jesus and to help the child feel safe and secure in their arms as they did when Jesus held them" (D.D., p. 152).
NOW HERE IS MEMORY!--The embryonic, prenatal memories are brought to light! No question for these people as to the reality and integrity of such "recollections"!
"This tool, or procedure, enables us to take people back under the power of the [charismatic's] Holy Spirit to conception and deal with pre-birth experiences that provide roots for present problems.
"Human beings are capable of recording memories even within the womb. These can be powerful forces in their lives. Such pre-birth experiences as physical traumas, hearing parents fight, and experiencing the mother's negative feelings, shape our responses and actions throughout life" (D.W., p. 125).
WOMB-WOUNDED--David A. Seamands is another mentor of Dr. Kraft's:
"David A. Seamands, in his Healing of Memories, tells us that, `The mother's attitude toward her baby has the greatest single effect on how the infant turns out, and the quality of a woman's relationship with her husband rates second and has a decisive effect upon the unborn child" (D.W., p. 139).
BLACK ART ...
"We need to be on our guard as we lead people through faith-picturing since Satan often tries to interfere with the process. Demons will sometimes pose as Jesus in the picture. At times this is evident, as when one of my clients saw Jesus holding a knife behind his back. Another time a woman reported being kissed by Jesus in an unwholesome fashion.
"These uncharacteristic behaviors tipped us off to the fact that we were dealing with an impostor, not the real Jesus. My challenge is simply to command any false Jesus to disappear or turn black. If the being is an impostor it will usually turn black immediately" (D.W., p. 120).
THE LAWRENCE LOCK-BOX--Dr. John W. Lawrence, professor at Multnomah, uses a "box" in which he has Jesus lock demons. Now Dr. Kraft has one too:
"I asked the angels to lower the box over the head of Owner and all the other demons over which he has authority, and lock them in. I then asked the angels to take the locked box to Jesus with Owner safe inside and ask Jesus to dispose of the box and Owner. Edie then was able to picture Jesus crushing the box as if it were a garbage compactor" (D.D., p. 180).
SATANIC CULT GANG RAPE--Sooner or later all conjured female memories come up with this one, none willing to be outdone:
"I take authority in Jesus' name to break any satanic power that exists in a persons' life due to illicit sex. I say something like, `In the name of Jesus, I break all satanic power in this person's life and cancel all right to access the Enemy may have gained through these sexual relationships.'
In one case, where a woman I was helping had been raped hundreds of times as a child [!], in a satanic cult, God [!] showed her all the men lined up one behind the other. As she renounced the bonding, then, the whole line of men fell down like dominoes and she was free" (D.D., p. 60).
EDEMATOUS EGO--Surely along the way thus far you have noted this charismatic leader's personal "stature." If not--
"Sometimes in faith-picturing, people will be able to see themselves in a house but find it impossible to picture their escape from that place. Even inviting Jesus in to rescue them doesn't seem to work. I have, therefore, had them picture me entering the place and leading them to safety. Once we are outside the door I describe myself as closing and locking the door" (D.D., p. 129).
"We often deal with people who cannot seem to receive mercy and forgiveness of God directly from God. They feel distant and unable to relate personally with God. I ask the person if all known sin has been confessed. If they say, `yes,' I say something like, `In the name of Jesus, and the authority given me by John 20:23, I speak forgiveness to you.' The resulting release the person feels is sometimes dramatic" (D.W., p. 56).
BELIEVE IT ... OR NOT!--Dr. Kraft is referring here to the god of this world, tending his billions of subjects worldwide, day and night:
"I live with the assumption that Satan and his followers are anxious to harass me, that they are constantly looking for ways either to induce things to go wrong or to piggyback on things that are already going wrong [whatever happened to Romans 8:28?].
"So if I am snared in an argument, or caught in heavy traffic on my way to an important appointment, or I feel I am being cheated, or am frustrated in a search for something, or am being thwarted in travel arrangements--all these signal to me to command evil spirits to get out of my affairs. Sometimes I say the words out loud, sometimes in my spirit. Either way, the Enemy hears what I say and obeys.
"Once when it looked like my wife and I would have to stay overnight because our plane missed a connection, the company scheduled a larger plane to accommodate the extra passengers--but only after I commanded any enemies to cease and desist" (D.D., p. 116).
MULTIPLE PERSONALITY DISASSOCIATIONS--These charismatic demon-deliverance/memory-healers play the gamut:
"Gene--Gene said to me, `I can't figure out whether I am totally committed to Christ since part of me seems to be committed, and other parts don't. What's wrong with me, anyway?' What Gene was describing may be likened to an inner family made up of various parts, subparts, or superpersonalities [how about just plain old man Adam?].
"This concept of the inner family is developed in a very helpful article by Richard Schwartz, a prominent secular family counselor. `In my work, I find it is useful to conceive of one's inner life as an internal family. In this family, the Self is like the central executive of a loyal clan containing a wide range of members, from needy children to meddling old relatives. Indeed, if asked, most clients can conjure [!] up an image of each part or sub-part ... and the visages of the personified parts range from very young to old and haggard' (D.W., pp. 222,223).
"Jenny--With Jenny, I began the process of interacting with several of these inner children one by one. We could label the inner child that encapsulated her six-year-old experiences, `Jenny-6'; the one who encapsulated her eight-year-old experiences, `Jenny-8'; and so on.
"We found that each inner subself had a series of traumatic experiences to recount, most of which the adult Self, Jenny, could remember only in general, if at all. The inner children supplied her with detailed descriptions of traumatic events, though often they had to be coaxed [aha!] to do so.
"I introduced myself to Jenny-13 and asked if she would talk to me. She confessed to me that she was ashamed to talk to the adult Self but would not tell me why. Our suspicion was that she was hiding some abusive event or series of events [of course, what else?]. After some coaxing she eventually shared with Jenny the abusive events she had been hiding. Soon after this event, Jenny was able to incorporate (technically `fuse') Jenny 13 into her main Self so that they were no longer separate" (D.W., pp. 231-233).
"Diane--Thirty-year-old Diane had a six-year-old `alter' who didn't know Jesus. She suffered from deep feelings of rejection, inadequacy, distrust, and guilt stemming from some very difficult life experiences. Since at age six, Diane had not yet turned to Christ, however, this alter had been left behind.
"As I interacted with the six-year-old, showing her love and acceptance she had not experienced previously, she came to trust me. I was then able to lead her to Christ [!]. With her permission, then, I was able to cast out a group of demons whose job it was to reinforce the above-mentioned problems. Soon after this session, six-year-old Diane was ready to fuse with the thirty-year-old core personality" (D.W., p. 249).
THOSE CHARISMATIC STORIES--Those who don't have the truth, or reject it, must resort to the big lie. ...
"It is exciting to hear people who have received deliverance describe how they handle demonic attempts to retake territory from which they have been evicted. They say things like, `The demon tried to come back last night, and I did the same thing you did. I told it to leave and it did!' Or, `I asked Jesus to send angels to surround the demon with swords and they took care of it. And Jesus let me see the whole thing'" (D.D., p. 170).
TAKE A CHANCE WITH JESUS--Donny might be a completely different person, but is he a new creation in Christ Jesus, and growing?
"When I strongly affirmed Donald's right to be angry, and resentful, he began to listen in a new way. Did I mean that Jesus wouldn't reject him because he hated those who had hurt him? I suggested he take a chance with Jesus. If it didn't work, he could always back out later [a charismatic practice]. The words came haltingly, `I want to forgive those who hurt me. Please help me, Jesus.'
"He didn't ask for a picture of Jesus. Without any suggestion, God gave Donald a beautiful picture of Jesus in a shining robe with his arms spread wide open to receive Donald. I asked Donald if he would move into those arms. He said, `I'm running toward him!' The embrace was long and sweet. And Donald is a completely different person now" (D.D., p. 121).
AUTOMATIC MOUTH--How a highly-placed Fuller professor is "guided" by God:
"There are several ways in which God reveals information directly. Frequently, 1) we simply get an impression. God often leads through what feel like hunches, intuition, or guesses. Often 2) he also puts in our minds a word or combination of words. We may think them, audibly hear them, or visibly see them written in our minds or some other place. Further, 3) God can lead through pictures. Sometimes it will be a picture of a person in a difficult situation, such as an abusive event. 4) God may reveal information through a feeling of pain or emotion. Finally, 5) in deep healing ministry we often find ourselves speaking words we hadn't planned to say. This method is sometimes called `automatic mouth'" (D.W., p. 106).
CURSES CURSED--Approximately nine out of ten clients Dr. Kraft mentions in his books are neurotic--if not psychotic--charismatic women:
"A woman I'll call Jill came to me distraught over the discovery of lumps on her breasts. [Does she not have a doctor?] As I asked God what to say and do, the word `abuse' came to me. I asked [suggested] Jill if she had ever been sexually abused. `Yes,' she said, and indicated that her breasts had been the focus of the main interest. [`You only want my body!']. `Have you cursed your breasts?' I asked. `Yes,' she said, `many times, by strongly wishing I didn't have them for men to be interested in.' She renounced the sources, and the lumps disappeared" (D.D., p. 108).
ANOTHER GIANT "JESUS"--Drugless hallucination:
"I asked Jenna if she could see Jesus there with her on her grandfather's porch. She watched [conjured] for a couple of minutes with her eyes closed and then a smile came over her face. I asked her what she saw, and she said that a great big Jesus in flowing robes and sandals had walked up the sidewalk in front of her grandfather's house. He ascended the steps of the porch and stood in front of her.
"She was so small in comparison to him that all she could see were his feet and shins. Jesus stopped down and picked her up, holding her in his arms. He then declared to all who were there that day, `This one is mine!'
"Jenna allowed herself to be held by Jesus for a long time, just enjoying his loving presence. As she did, she committed to him her feelings of abandonment and worthlessness and found that her pain had ebbed away, replaced by a sense of Jesus' closeness in the past as well as the present" (D.W., p. 110).
CHILD DEMONS--Total self-control, except...
"Any number of women have complained to me about losing control when correcting their children, but they have no problem with self- control otherwise. Often their problem is solved through inner healing--that is, dealing with events in their childhood in which their emotions were damaged. Often, however, these hurts have given opportunity for a demon to enter and it is his ability to influence her behavior that pushes her out of control" (D.D.. p. 129).
"Very young children can be ministered to when they sleep or are held. Parents and others authorized by the parents can take authority over any Satanic interference in a child's life while the child is asleep, talking aloud to any emissaries of the Enemy and claiming the child for Jesus.
"I joined the parents of an eighteen-month-old boy once in praying with authority over him while he slept, and the release was so great it woke him up. Not only that, but he felt so good that he stayed up and kept his parents from sleeping the rest of the night" (D.D., p. 137).
ANIMAL DEMONS--Evidently no animal rights:
"If you suspect demonization in an animal, treat it as you would a material object that has been cursed. Take authority over the demon(s), break their power and command them to leave. When you are sure they have left, bless the animal with the power of Jesus. If this doesn't seem to work, get rid of the animal" (D.D., p. 234).
WASTE MANAGEMENT--The deliverance movement is undergoing another of their constant "paradigm shifts." Just plain demon deliverance will no longer do. Now they have to dig into the "garbage." This will involve them all--the Andersons, the Dickasons, the Wagners, the Wimbers, the Warners, the Murphys, the Lawrences, the Eastmans, the Bubecks, and all the multitudinous rest. Garbage collectors, all. If the Littauers are in, and they already are (Freeing Your Mind From Memories that Bind and The Promise of Restoration), can the "Happy Hunters" be far behind?
"Deliverance ministries specialize in casting out demons. Unfortunately, many deliverance ministries lead people to think that once the demons are gone, their problems are over. Such is seldom the case, however, since the real problems are the things the demons are attached to, not the demons themselves.
"In deep level memory healing we get to cast out a lot of demons. But we recognize that they are like rats. And rats go for garbage. `Garbage' is the term I use to refer to the spiritual and emotional problems to which demons attach themselves" (D.W., p. 45).
FOREWARNED ... FOREARMED--As we have premonished through the years, avoid charismatics like the plague that they spread. Keep them out of your home, church, classes, everything. The only time to have anything at all to do with them is if and when they come and ask, "What must I do to be saved by the Lord Jesus Christ?" or "What must I do to grow in grace in the Lord Jesus Christ?"
HEED PAUL!--"Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; AND AVOID THEM. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly [`heal me; bless me; thrill me; entertain me; empower me!']; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple" (Rom. 16:17,18).
May you lose any "innocence" you may have had, now having been apprised of the demonic dementia of Dr. Kraft and the charismatics.
