To keep the price down and to encourage the wider distribution of fundamentalist Bible-believing materials we are providing the materials to the Australian distributor at our cost. The books are priced in Australia dollars at par with what they ordinarily cost in U.S. dollars. The following is a description of the titles currently available: THE BIBLE’S AMAZING STORY. This summary of the Bible is designed for evangelism. Beginning in Genesis and going through Revelation it includes excerpts from the Scriptures with 205 headings and 204 explanatory footnotes to enable the reader to see the unfolding story of the Bible and to understand the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The footnotes contain explanations of Bible words and events. The Bible is a large book and to the uninitiated, it is complicated and difficult to understand. A teacher is required, as we see in Acts 8 in the case of the Ethiopian eunuch. He was a highly educated man, the treasurer of Ethiopia, and was reading the book of Isaiah; but when Philip the evangelist asked him if he understood what he read, he replied, “How can I, except some man should guide me?” The Bible’s Amazing Story is designed to assist those who are searching for the truth and who want to know what the Bible is all about. It is also an excellent study book for new converts. 167 pages, 5X8, perfect bound, A$3.00 THE BIBLE VERSION QUESTION-ANSWER DATABASE (D.W. Cloud) [ISBN 1-58318-088-5] This book gives diligently-researched, in-depth answers to 82 of the most important questions on this topic. A vast number of myths are exposed, such as the myth that Erasmus promised to add 1 John 5:7 to his Greek New Testament if even one manuscript could be produced, the myth that the differences between the Greek texts and versions are slight and insignificant, and the myth that there are no doctrines affected by the changes in the modern versions. The author has carried on extensive correspondence with men on all sides of this issue for the past 25 years, and this book answers the challenges that are made by the opponents of “King James Onlyism,” including James White, D.A. Carson, Doug Kutilek, the editors of From the Mind of God to the Mind of Man and One Bible Only, etc. It also includes reviews of several of the popular modern versions, including the Living Bible, New Living Bible, Today’s English Version, New International Version, New American Standard Version, The Message, and the Holman Christian Standard Bible. 423 pages, 7X8, perfect bound, A$17.95 CONTEMPORARY CHRISTIAN MUSIC UNDER THE SPOTLIGHT (D.W. Cloud). [ISBN 1-58318-057-5] To our knowledge, this 450-page book is the most extensive examination of Contemporary Christian Music in print. It features: A definition of Contemporary Christian Music. The spiteful anti-fundamentalist attitude which permeates CCM. The intimate connection between end-time apostasy and CCM. Southern gospel yesterday and today. The love affair between CCM musicians and secular rock music. The ecumenism of Contemporary Christian Music. The close association of CCM with Roman Catholicism. The intimate connection between CCM and the Charismatic Movement. An encyclopedia of 200 CCM musicians, containing profiles of their lives and ministries, church affiliations, philosophies, ecumenical associations, music, etc. Documentation proving that CCM is owned largely by secular corporations. Lyrics to CCM songs illustrating the vagueness and heresy of their message. Twenty-three key CCM arguments answered (we must use rock music to win young people, music is neutral, people are getting saved, God doesn't look on the outward appearance, Luther used tavern music, God created all music, Christians are not to judge, etc.). Careful documentation of every fact presented. How to keep Contemporary Christian Music out of churches. Where Christians should draw the line with music. The book contains a list of Suggested Resources on Music, listing sources for sound Christian music, hymnals, resources for song leading, and materials for further reading on the topic of Contemporary Christian Music. There is also an extensive bibliography on the subject of Christian music. 450 pages, 7X8, perfect bound. A$19.95. DYNAMIC EQUIVALENCY: DEATH KNELL OF PURE SCRIPTURE (D.W. CLOUD) [ISBN 1-58318-040-0] This book exposes the danger of the popular method of Bible translation known as “dynamic equivalency” or “common language.” It covers the principles of dynamic equivalency, the influence of dynamic equivalency, the guru of dynamic equivalency (Eugene Nida), the errors of dynamic equivalency, and dynamic equivalency among fundamentalists. Revised and enlarged in 2004. 91 pages, 5x8, perfect bound. A$5.00 FAITH VS. THE MODERN BIBLE VERSIONS: A COURSE ON BIBLE TEXTS AND VERSIONS AND A 10-FOLD DEFENSE OF THE KING JAMES BIBLE (D.W. Cloud) [1-58318-087-7] To our knowledge, this 775-page volume is the most comprehensive course on this topic in print. It contains information that has not appeared in any other book defending the King James Bible and breaks new ground in several areas -- such as the importance of the ancient separatist versions in the defense of 1 John 5:7, an exposition of the doctrine of Bible preservation from 43 passages of Scripture, documentation of the corruption of evangelical scholarship over the past 50 years and of the apostasy that enveloped the 19th century as modern textual criticism was devised and that further enveloped the 20th century as modern textual criticism became entrenched, and documentation of the role played by Unitarians in the development of modern textual criticism, to name a few. If you are new to the Bible Version issue and want to understand it, we believe this is the book for you; and if you have already been studying this subject for some time, you will find a wealth of new things here. The course features 783 sectional review questions to reinforce the teaching. A separate teacher’s test book is available containing sectional and final tests with answer sheets. Dr. David Sorenson, author of Touch Not the Unclean Thing and Understanding the Bible Commentary, said: “I have read about 95%+ of your Faith vs. Modern Versions book. What a masterpiece!! I am so impressed with it. It is probably the finest book I have read on the issue. I have also just finished reading your new book on the Bible Version Hall of ShameEXCELLENT!! What a wealth of history and information.” 775 pages, 7X8, perfect bound, A$29.95 FUNDAMENTAL BAPTIST CD-ROM LIBRARY [ISBN 1-58318-065-6] The 2003 edition of the Fundamental Baptist CD-ROM Library is a 200-megabyte, 95,000-page computerized database, which features a commercial search engine and is designed to work on both IBM and Macintosh computers. Composed of roughly 5,600 select books and articles, it is the largest fundamentalist research database available. It is a contemporary church issues research library, a Bible Encyclopedia, a preacher’s information database, a church directory, a Baptist history library, a Bible Version library, and much more. This is not merely a batch of material thrown on a CD. Everything in this electronic library is carefully selected to be of benefit to a fundamentalist in his Christian life and ministry. The vast majority of this information is unique to the Fundamental Baptist CD-ROM Library and cannot be obtained from any other source. The following are some of the features: (1) The WAY OF LIFE ENCYCLOPEDIA OF THE BIBLE & CHRISTIANITY. More than twenty years of research has gone into this one-of-a-kind reference tool. It is the only Bible dictionary/encyclopedia that is written by a Fundamental Baptist and based strictly upon the King James Bible. It is a complete dictionary of biblical terminology and also features many other areas of research not often covered in Bible reference volumes. It is extremely practical and useful for the ministry. Subjects include Bible versions, Denominations, Cults, Christian Movements, Typology, the Church, Social Issues and Practical Christian Living, Bible Prophecy, and Old English Terminology. This work does not correct the Authorized Version of the Bible, nor does it undermine the fundamental Baptist's doctrines and practices as many study tools do. The computer version 3.5 contains over 5,500 entries and 6,000 cross-references. (2) The complete END TIME APOSTASY TOPICAL DATABASE which features roughly 3,000 books and articles arranged into more than 70 categories. A$8.95 ISSUES FACING THE CHURCHES (DVDs). This series of video presentations deals with important issues facing Bible-believing churches. The videos are professionally produced and packaged and skillfully incorporate a wide variety of sound and video clips and graphics. They are designed for use in the home, church, and school. Following are the 11 titles that are currently available: BIBLICAL SEPARATION AND ITS NEGLECT AMONG FUNDAMENTAL BAPTISTS (90 minutes, one DVD). This presentation examines what the Bible teaches about ecclesiastical separation and reviews the dangerous and growing neglect of this practice among independent Baptist churches. It covers the foundation of separation, which is a strong knowledge of the Scriptures; the method of separation, which is avoiding those who error in their teaching; the reason for separation, which is spiritual protection; the basis of separation, which is anything clearly taught in Scripture; the initiative of separation, which deals with the importance of taking the initiative and departing from things that are false; and the attitude of separation, which is Christian charity. Under the section on the neglect of separation among fundamental Baptists, we look at what is happening in bookstores, radio stations, missionary organizations, the Baptist Bible Fellowship International, Joyful Woman magazine, Southwide Baptist Fellowship, the GARBC, and associations with the Southern Baptist Convention. THE CALVINISM DEBATE: WHO IS THE ENEMY? (60 minutes, one DVD). This presentation compares Calvinistic theology with the Bible and warns against the deception that a Christian is required to be either Calvinist or Arminian. In preparation for this message, the author studied John Calvin’s Institutes of Religion as well as many other related materials. The video message concludes by considering “Who or what is the chief enemy in this debate?” A two-fold answer is given: (1) The chief enemy is any theology that dampens evangelistic zeal; and (2) the chief enemy is any methodology that corrupts evangelistic zeal. The author is convinced that the practice of “easy believism” or “quick Prayerism” is as harmful to the cause of Jesus Christ as hyper-Calvinism. DANGERS IN CHRISTIAN BOOKSTORES (60 minutes, one DVD). Sadly and strangely, one of the great spiritual dangers facing Bible-believing churches today is the unscriptural material that lines the shelves of the typical Christian bookstore. This video message carefully exposes several of these dangerous philosophies that permeate the average Christian bookstore, including the philosophy of positivism, the ecumenical philosophy, the anti-fundamentalism philosophy, the charismatic doctrine, the church growth doctrine, and the humanistic psychology. Some of the popular Christian writers that are considered are Robert Schuller, Kay Arthur, Charles Stanley, David Jeremiah, Billy Graham, Chuck Colson, John Maxwell, Philip Yancey, Jim Cymbala, Max Lucado, Elisabeth Elliot, Jerry Bridges, Jack Hayford, Rick Warren, Bill Hybels, James Dobson, and C.S. Lewis. DANGERS OF CONTEMPORARY WORSHIP MUSIC (120 minutes, one DVD). Much research has gone into this production. In 2003 I read about 30 books on the subject of contemporary praise, and I analyzed about 50 of the popular contemporary praise albums. Through the years I have studied contemporary praise at large ecumenical conferences which I have attended with press credentials, such as New Orleans ’87, Indianapolis ’90, and St. Louis 2000. Within the last couple of years I have attended services at congregations that are influential in the CCW movement, including Rick Warren’s Saddleback Church in California, Bill Hybels’ Willowcreek Community Church near Chicago, the Anaheim Vineyard Church, lately pastored by John Wimber, Carpenter’s Home Church in Lakeland, Florida (where Michael W. Smith recorded his largest-selling worship album), and other congregations that are influential in this movement. Following are the seven warnings that I give in this presentation: 1. Contemporary Christian Worship is built upon the false philosophy that music is neutral. 2. Contemporary Christian Worship is largely a rock & roll feeling-fest. 3. Contemporary Christian Worship is not separated from the world. 4. Contemporary Christian Worship is intimately entangled with the Charismatic movement. 5. Contemporary Christian Worship is one of the glues of the ecumenical movement. 6. Contemporary Christian Worship goes hand in hand with a worldly philosophy of Christianity and a gradual lowering of all standards. 7. Contemporary Christian Worship is confused about true biblical worship. DISTINGUISHING BETWEEN SACRED AND CONTEMPORARY STYLES OF CHRISTIAN MUSIC (90 minutes, one DVD). The goal of this very practical presentation is to give the believer some simple tools that he can use to discern the difference between sensual and sacred music. This video builds on three former presentations on music: Sound Christian Music vs. CCM, Is Southern Gospel Music Safe, and Dangers of Contemporary Praise Music. In these we deal more with the lyrics and the musicians and the associations of the music (i.e., worldliness, ecumenism, charismaticism). In “Distinguishing Between Styles” we deal with the music itself, learning how to analyze it. We use 55 clips of music to illustrate the points. We spent many weeks preparing this message, and all of the music clips are ones we have created or have gathered ourselves. ERRORS OF MODERN TEXTUAL CRITICISM (80 minutes, one DVD). The material for this presentation is drawn from the author's own extensive private library as well as from many important theological libraries in the U.S.A., Canada, and England. The modern versions (ASV, RSV, NASV, NIV, etc.) are based on the "science" of modern textual criticism which was developed in the 19th century and resulted in the English Revised Version of 1881. This two-part presentation exposes some of the chief errors of the “science” of textual criticism. We cover the following four points: First, modern textual criticism ignores the supernatural character of the Bible. Second, modern textual criticism ignores Satan’s attack on the Bible. Third, modern textual criticism ignores God’s promise of preservation. Fourth, modern textual criticism ignores the preeminence of faith. We trace the history of textual criticism back to its roots in the early part of the 19th century and expose the intimate association of textual criticism with theological modernism and Unitarianism. We look at the principles of textual criticism and then at the theology of the most influential names in textual criticism from the past 200 years, including Johann Bengel, Karl Lachmann, Johann Griesbach, B.F. Westcott, F.J.A. Hort, Philip Schaff, George Vance Smith, Ezra Abbot, Joseph Thayer, Caspar Rene Gregory, and the editors of the United Bible Societies Greek New Testament, Carlo Martini, Kurt Aland, and Bruce Metzger. We show that modern textual criticism is not established from the principle of faith and therefore is wrong upon its very head. HISTORY OF THE ENGLISH BIBLE (120 minutes, one DVD). This presentation covers the fascinating history of the English Bible from the 15th to the 17th centuries. We preached the lectures at Heritage Baptist University in Greenwood, Indiana, and used their collection of ancient Bibles as illustrations. We have also included pictures that we took on an extended research trip to England, Wales, and Europe in April 2003. The presentation focuses on three major Bibles, the Wycliffe of 1484, the Tyndale of 1525, and the King James Bible of 1611, though we also cover the others of that era, such as the Geneva. IS SOUTHERN GOSPEL MUSIC SAFE? (120 minutes, one DVD). We believe it is important to speak out on this subject for two reasons. First, Southern Gospel is big business today and is very influential in Bible-believing churches, not only in the South, but also throughout the country and even in Canada and elsewhere. Second, following the lead of Bill Gaither and other prominent names, Southern Gospel groups are rapidly adopting the “music is neutral” philosophy of the Contemporary Christian Music world. In fact, any walls that once existed to separate Southern Gospel from the Christian rock world are rapidly being torn down. Commercial Southern gospel today is one of the branches of the larger CCM world. In this presentation we give the history of Southern Gospel quartets in the early 1900s and describe the evolution of the music toward commercialism and entertainment, particularly in the 1940s and 1950s. We show how Southern Gospel quartets adopted the sexy dance music of the early 1900s, borrowing rhythms from ragtime, jazz, western swing, honky tonk, boogie woogie, and the blues. We show that there have been two streams of Southern Gospel since the mid-1900s, a conservative stream and a contemporary stream. We reveal the close connection between Southern Gospel and the formation of rock music in the 1950s. The presentation concludes with four practical suggestions about “When to Avoid Southern Gospel Music.” NEW EVANGELICALISM: A VERY GREAT DANGER TO THE CHURCHES (120 minutes, one DVD). This presentation deals with the subject of New Evangelicalism from the standpoint of its history, its theology, its most popular defenders and its certain outcome. Many have said it is the best and most practical presentation they have seen on this subject. New Evangelicalism stands on a shaky middle ground between fundamental Bible-believing Christians and the wider world of Romanism, Pentecostalism and the apostasy of mainline, liberal Protestant denominations. This presentation traces the history of New Evangelicalism back through the modernism that was prevalent in Germany in the 1800s and in America in the early 1900s. It also examines the faulty philosophies of the men who have promoted New Evangelicalism. It is impossible to understand the current state of Christianity without understanding the history and philosophy of New Evangelicalism. OLD TIME FUNDAMENTALISTS WHO STOOD FOR THE KJV (50 minutes, one DVD). Some recent publications have made the claim that fundamentalists of old did not defend the King James Bible and have argued that the defense of the KJV is of recent origin. This high-quality video presentation, which is packed with powerful visual illustrations, proves the error of this thinking. It documents fundamentalist leaders before 1960 who defended the King James Bible against the modern versions of their day. We look first at Benjamin Dearmore (1897-1969). He was Chairman of the Faculty at the Bible Baptist Seminary under J. Frank Norris until 1948 and also co-founded Worth Bible College and Trinity Valley Seminary. He edited an independent Baptist paper called The Message. Dearmore took a strong stand for the KJV. For example, in the May 28, 1959, issue of The Message, he wrote: “As for me, I will take the King James translation as the very Word of God for the English people. I believe it is without error. It is 100 percent correct.” Next we look at William Aberhart (1878-1943). He was an influential fundamentalist leader in western Canada and took a bold stand for the KJV. We prove this with the testimony of his former students and with quotes from his writings. Finally we look at the life and ministry of Philip Mauro (1859-1952), a converted lawyer and one of the authors of The Fundamentals in the 1920s. His 1924 book Which Version: Authorized or Revised? boldly defends the KJV and refutes modern textual criticism. SOUND CHRISTIAN MUSIC VS. CONTEMPORARY CHRISTIAN MUSIC (120 minutes, one DVD). This up-to-date presentation deals with the errors and philosophies that permeate contemporary Christian music and demonstrates conclusively the dangers of borrowing the world's music. The presentation examines the overt worldliness in lifestyle, appearance, and methods of the Contemporary Christian Music industry. Further, it shows the connection between the charismatic movement, the Roman Catholic Church, and sound, Bible-believing churches which adopt the music and philosophies of CCM. Is music neutral? Should Christians rock? Isn't CCM a good way to entice the world into the church? Where should we draw the line in Christian music? How does worldly music enter Bible-believing churches? What are the dangers of this new music? Isn't it legalistic to have specific standards for music? For Bible answers to these and many other important questions on the issue of music, we highly recommend this video. Many who have viewed the presentation have said that it is the best that they have seen on the dangers of Contemporary Christian Music. WHY WE HOLD TO THE KING JAMES BIBLE (200 minutes, two DVDs). This high-quality videotape presents five of the reasons why we are convinced that English-speaking people need to hold to the King James Bible in the face of the onslaught of the modern versions. I. The KJV is based on the preserved Greek New Testament. II. The modern versions are based on the corrupt theories of modern textual criticism. III. The KJV is doctrinally superior to the modern versions. IV. The modern versions are built on a foundation of deception. In this section we look at the history of the first modern English version, the English Revised Version of 1881. V. The KJV has an unmatched heritage. We look at the Tyndale Bible that became the foundation of the King James Bible. We then look at the King James Bible itself and its incomparable translation methodology by a team of some 50 of England’s greatest Bible scholars. All 11 video presentations on 12 DVDs A$205.00 THE MODERN BIBLE VERSION HALL OF SHAME (D.W. Cloud) [ISBN 1-58318-059-1] This book deals with eight popular myths surrounding the modern Bible version issue. Myth One, Erasmus was merely a humanist. Myth Two, the Reformation editors lacked sufficient manuscript evidence. Myth Three, differences between texts and versions affect no doctrine. Myth Four, inspiration was infallible but preservation is fallible. Myth Five, the scholars do not support the Received Text. Myth Six, modern texts and versions are based upon Bible-believing scholarship. Myth Seven, Evangelical scholarship can be trusted. Myth Eight, dynamic equivalency is a faithful method for translating the Scriptures. The book answers questions such as the following: Why are the modern Bible versions so different from the KJV? Is it true that the differences between the versions do not affect doctrine? What is the Received Text? What is the Westcott-Hort Text? Is it still influential? Who are the scholars who defend the King James Bible? Is modern textual criticism based upon biblical principles? Who were the men who developed modern textual criticism? (The book contains reports on most influential textual critics and modern translators of the 19th and 20th centuries, including Johann Wetstein, Johann Griesbach, Karl Lachmann, Constantine Tischendorf, Westcott and Hort, George Vance Smith, Philip Schaff, Ezra Abbot, Joseph Thayer, Caspar Rene Gregory, Walter Bowie, Edgar Goodspeed, James Moffatt, C.H. How has New Evangelicalism paved the way for the modern versions? Does Psalm 12:7 refer to the preservation of God’s Word? Why do textual critics ignore divine preservation? Why do so many seminaries reject the Received Text? Who is Bruce Metzger? Why does Billy Graham support the modern versions? What kinds of Bibles are being translated into foreign languages? Is the fight for the KJV necessary? Do I have to be a Greek scholar to understand this issue? Where was the preserved Word of God before 1611? 325 pages, 7X8, perfect bound. A$19.95 REPENTANCE IS MORE THAN A SINNER’S PRAYER (D.W. Cloud) [ISBN 1-58318-062-1] A study on biblical repentance and a timely warning about unscriptural methods of presenting the gospel. The opening chapter, entitled “Fundamental Baptists and Quick Prayerism: A Faulty Method of Evangelism Has Produced a Change in the Doctrine of Repentance,” traces the change in the doctrine of repentance among fundamental Baptists during the past 50 years. Chapter Two is an extensive study on biblical repentance and includes what repentance is not, a study of every Bible passage dealing with repentance, repentance defined by preachers of old, illustrations of repentance, and God’s repentance. Chapter Three looks at four “Unscriptural Presentations of Repentance”: (1) An Easy Prayerism Presentation: Failing to deal plainly with repentance. (2) An Insufficient Presentation: Failing to define the terms of the Gospel so the hearers plainly understand, and failing to contrast the true Gospel with false gospels. (3) A Positive Presentation: Failing to lay a proper foundation of the holiness of God and the sinfulness of man. (4) A Need-Oriented Presentation: Failing to make a distinction between genuine salvation and mere reformation and ritual. Chapter Four is titled “Does Salvation Make a Difference,” demonstrating that profession without a corresponding change of life is not biblical salvation. Chapter Five “is “Pentecost vs. Hylescost,” contrasting Jack Hyles evangelistic methodology with the Bible. Chapter Six answers questions that commonly arise pertaining to this subject, including “Are you preaching lordship salvation?” and “Isn’t your definition of repentance a works salvation?” 177 pages, 5X8, perfect bound A$9.95 THINGS HARD TO BE UNDERSTOOD: A HANDBOOK OF BIBLICAL DIFFICULTIES (D.W. Cloud) [ISBN 1-58318-002-8] We are pleased to announce the 4th edition of Things Hard to Be Understood: A Handbook of Biblical Difficulties. The new edition is 85 pages longer than the 3rd edition and contains about 70 new entries. This very practical volume deals with a variety of biblical difficulties. Find the answer to the seeming contradictions in the Bible. Meet the challenge of false teachers who misuse biblical passages to prove their doctrine. Find out the meaning of difficult passages that are oftentimes overlooked in the Bible commentaries. Be confirmed in your confidence in the inerrancy and perfection of the Scriptures. Learn the meaning of difficult expressions such as “the unpardonable sin.” One unique feature of this volume is that it contains no criticism of the King James Bible. We don’t believe that it has any errors and we do not believe that any correction of it is necessary to solve the alleged contradictions and other difficulties. Another thing that sets this volume apart from others on this topic is its practical nature and the fact that it is written from a fundamentalist, Bible-believing Baptist viewpoint. Our objective is to help protect God’s people from the false teachers that abound in these last days. They raise nagging questions and doubts by misusing passages of Scripture to support their specious doctrines. They take Scripture out of context and otherwise abuse it, and we have dealt with many examples of this. For example, we examine verses misused by Seventh-day Adventists to support their doctrines of soul sleep and annihilation, verses misused by the Roman Catholic Church to support its doctrines of Mary and the Papacy and purgatory, verses misused by ecumenists and to justify their unscriptural goals (i.e., Mat. 7:1; Mk. 9:38-40; Jn. 13:35; 17:21; Acts 5:38-39; Rom. 14:4; 1 Cor. 4:5; 6:12-13; Eph. 4:3-6; and Jam. 4:11), verses misused to support infant baptism and baptismal regeneration (i.e., Mk. 16:6-17; Jn. 3:5; Acts 2:38; 22:16; Rom. 6:3-4; 1 Cor. 1:16; Titus 3:5; 1 Pet. 3:21), verses misused to support Calvinism (i.e., Jn. 6:37-40; 6:44; Acts 13:46-48; Rom. 8:29; 9:13-33; 11:19-32), and verses misused by those who deny the doctrine of eternal security. We deal with things such as the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, cremation, hair coverings, the first shall be last, did Jesus die on Friday, God forbid, God’s repentance, healing in the atonement, judging, the letter of the law, Melchizedek, self defense, sinless perfectionism, soul sleep, and the Trinity. Jerry Huffman, editor of Calvary Contender, testified: “You don’t have to agree with everything to greatly benefit from this helpful book.” 4th edition, April 2006. 385 pages, 7X8. Perfect bound. WAY OF LIFE ADVANCED BIBLE STUDIES SERIES. These study courses can be used in many ways: As private study guides for the individual Christian; as courses of study in Sunday Schools; as textbooks in Bible colleges; as part of a home schooling curriculum; as study material in jails and prisons; for disciplining new Christians; and as refresher study material for Bible College graduates. Memory verses and review questions are included with each course. Tests and score sheets are available separately. Following are the 14 titles that are currently available: BIBLE HISTORY AND GEOGRAPHY (second edition enlarged, November 2004). ISBN 1-58318-081-8. This course gives an overview of the Bible and how it fits together. It also gives the history and the geography of the Bible. It includes 24 maps and charts. The four major sections deal with the Old Testament, the history between the Testaments, the Life of Christ, and the early churches. Second edition enlarged with the addition of twice the material and improved maps and sectional review questions, 212 pages, 7X8, perfect bound. $9.95 (If you have already purchased the first edition, we will send you a gift copy of the new edition for review.) THE BIBLE VERSION ISSUE: A COURSE ON BIBLE TEXTS AND VERSIONS AND A DEFENSE OF THE KING JAMES BIBLE. (Note: The 775-page book Faith vs. the Modern Bible Versions was originally advertised for the Advanced Bible Studies Series, but we have decided that it is more a seminary level course. Thus we have replaced that title with the shorter volume entitled The Bible Version Issue. The book Faith vs. the Modern Bible Versions is available separately from Way of Life Literature.) The Bible Version Issue is an extensive defense of the King James Bible. In this course we examine five reasons for holding to the KJV: (1) because of the doctrine of divine preservation, which authenticates the Traditional Greek Text underlying the King James Bible, (2) because the theories of textual criticism supporting the Modern Greek Text are heretical, (3) because the modern texts and versions are a product of end-time apostasy, (4) because of the King James Bible’s superior doctrine, and (5) because of its unmatched heritage. The course concludes with an exciting study on the history of the English Bible from Wycliffe to the 1611 KJV. The course features 429 sectional review questions to reinforce the teaching. A separate teacher’s test book is available containing sectional and final tests with answer sheets. 415 pages, 7X8, perfect bound, $19.95. THE BOOK OF ACTS. ISBN 1-58318-083-4. This course covers one of the most exciting and important books in the Bible. It deals very practically with church and missionary endeavor and also covers many important and foundation doctrines and practices, such as the resurrection and second coming of Christ, the Holy Spirit, salvation, repentance, inspiration, preaching, prophecy, baptism, church membership, the Lord’s supper, Christian charity, apostles, deacons, missionaries, pastors, bishops, ordination, offerings, the nature of the church, prayer, holiness, martyrdom, and evangelism. The course refutes many false doctrines that are prevalent today, such as Charismatic tongues, healing, and second blessing. It clears up many controversial issues such as the difference between the baptism and filling of the Holy Spirit, the woman’s role in the ministry, baptismal regeneration, election, sign miracles, repentance, modern church growth practices, and how to deal with false teaching. The course includes several Bible maps, and the student learns where each event in the book of Acts takes place. 168 pages, 7X8, perfect bound. $9.95. THE BOOK OF GENESIS. ISBN 1-58318-086-9. This large course covers one of the most important books in the Bible, the book of beginnings. Genesis is the foundation for the rest of the Bible. In fact, it is impossible to understand the rest of the Bible apart from this book. Genesis explains the mysteries of life, the origin of our world, the purpose of human life, the great mysteries of pain, sorrow, and death. Genesis prepares the way for the gospel by describing man’s fall and documenting the early genealogy of the Messiah and the covenants upon which the gospel is based. Genesis also points to the last days and brings New Testament doctrine to life in its character studies. This is a life-changing study of one of the world’s most amazing books. The course deals with the geography and customs of Genesis, and the location of each event is noted on one of the course’s six maps. Each section is concluded with a series of review questions. 345 pages, 7X8, perfect bound. $19.95. THE BOOK OF HEBREWS. ISBN 1-58318-090-7. This commentary and Bible course covers one of the most important and amazing books in the New Testament. Though there are unquestioningly many “things hard to be understood” in Hebrews, we understand that God has given us a key to unlock these things. That is, the proper interpretation of Hebrews depends upon understanding its two-fold theme: (1) Hebrews is a warning to Jews who had professed faith in Jesus to continue in that faith and thereby show that they were genuinely saved (Heb. 2:1; 3:12; 4:1, 11; 6:11; 10:38; 12:12-13). (2) Toward this end Christ is shown to be superior to all things that unsaved Jews put their faith in: prophets (Heb. 1:1-3), angels (Heb. 1:4 - 2:18), Moses (Heb. 3:1 - 4:13), the Mosaic Law and the Priesthood (Heb. 4:14 - 8:5). We know that the writer of Hebrews is not teaching that true believers can lose their salvation, because he plainly states that continuing in and persevering in faith is the evidence of one’s salvation rather than the way OF salvation. Hebrews teaches that it is possible to come near to genuine salvation without experiencing it. In Hebrews “we see Jesus” (Heb. 2:9) in a special way. The book opens the veil and invites us to gaze upon the throne in the holy of holiness on high more plainly than any other book of the New Testament. Hebrews “presents the only full discussion in the New Testament of Christ as the believer’s High Priest.” We show that the blood was not merely symbolic for death but was itself a crucial part of the atonement. The book of Hebrews teaches us anew that the Bible is a self-interpreting Book. In the book of Hebrews we have a divinely-given interpretation of the Old Testament tabernacle and priesthood. These were types of Christ and prophecies of the future and we are not left to imagine what they might mean. We are given a definite key to their interpretation. Hebrews, of course, is not only for Jews. It is for all of God’s people throughout the church age, and it is a very practical book. Scattered throughout are exhortations to everyday Christian living based on the doctrine that is taught. Hebrews contains essential instruction about sanctification, backsliding and apostasy, Bible study, prayer, the exercise of faith, chastisement, the ministry of exhortation, church attendance, church leadership, hospitality, and worship. 307 pages, 7X8, perfect bound. $14.95. THE BOOK OF ROMANS. ISBN 1-58318-084-2. This course covers the Epistle of Romans, the first epistle in order in the New Testament because it is certainly the most important doctrinal epistle. The book of Romans is an orderly presentation of the gospel, of the way of salvation. It answers the great question, “How can a man be righteous before God?” It was also written to give Christians a doctrinal basis for their faith. It covers the important doctrines of salvation, sanctification, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, Christian living, prophecy, and much more. Romans was also written to defeat the false teachers who were trying to confuse the believers of that day. The best way to overthrow the work of false teachers is to preach doctrinal truth carefully, point by point, and that is what we see in Romans and that is what we do in this course. We cover almost every verse in Romans and deal carefully with all of the difficult passages. 172 pages, 7X8, perfect bound $9.95. DEFENSE OF THE FAITH (second edition enlarged June 2005). ISBN 1-58318-080-X. This course deals with many of the heresies and false groups that challenge Bible-believing churches today. The introductory section contains an extensive survey of what the New Testament says about false teachers and a study on biblical separation. The next section is on the Roman Catholic Church. This is followed by a section on three of the major cults, Mormonism, Seventh-day Adventism, and Jehovah’s Witness. The next section contains an extensive study on the Pentecostal-Charismatic movement, its history and doctrine. The final section covers Modernism, Fundamentalism, and New Evangelicalism. Each study is comprehensive and thoroughly researched by the Way of Life Director, who has built a large library on these topics and has done first-hand research in many parts of the world. 73 pictures and illustrations. 456 pages, 7X8, perfect bound. $19.95. THE FOUR GOSPELS. ISBN 1-58318-082-6. This course begins with the period between the Testaments and then covers the book of Matthew thoroughly, almost verse by verse. It then deals with Mark, Luke, and John by considering the unique aspects of those books that are not contained in Matthew. Four excellent maps are included and are used throughout the course, so the student gains an understanding of where the various events take place during the life of Christ. The course is extremely practical and doctrinal and can be used for discipleship. The difficulties and alleged contradictions in the Gospels are dealt with as the course progresses. The course includes review questions. 168 pages, 7X8, perfect bound. $9.95. GIVE ATTENDANCE TO DOCTRINE (second edition enlarged, February 2005). ISBN 1-58318-090-7. Should Christians speak in tongues today? What does the Bible say about “slaying in the Spirit”? How do we know that Jesus Christ is God? Does God choose who will go to heaven and who will go to hell? Did Jesus die for all sinners or only for a select few? What does Romans 9:13 mean when it says that God hated Esau? Does eternal security mean that a Christian can live any way he pleases? What happens when a Christian sins? What about the verses used by those who say the believer can lose his salvation? Will there be one general resurrection of the saved and the lost? What will the resurrection body be like? What was Satan like before he sinned? How can the Christian defeat Satan? What is heaven like? Are the wicked annihilated in hell? 262 pages, 7X8, perfect bound $9.95. A HISTORY OF THE CHURCHES FROM A BAPTIST PERSPECTIVE (second edition enlarged June 2005). In the first section, we deal with the characteristics of apostolic churches. The next section covers "The Budding of Apostasy 100-700 A.D." Many preachers have told us that apart from Strong’s Concordance, the Way of Life Bible Encyclopedia is their favorite study tool. A missionary told us that if he could save only one study book out of his library, it would be our Encyclopedia. An evangelist in South Dakota wrote: “If I were going to the mission field and could carry only three books, they would be the Strong’s concordance, a hymnal, and the Way of Life Bible Encyclopedia.” Missionary author Jack Moorman says: “The encyclopedia is excellent. The entries show a ‘distilled spirituality.’” 600 pages, 8X11, hard cover book.
